Rotary Engraving

We provide Rotary Engraving services in house at both of our Richmond and Vancouver locations.  Our rotary engravers can engrave aluminum, brass and steel. We have a selection of fonts designed for engraving but we can also engrave some TTF fonts.  However fonts designed for engraving look much better because they fill in the engraving to give the font a thicker look. We can also engrave custom logos and designs but it will require a setup charge as almost all logos will need to converted to a line art drawing (outlines only) that will work for engraving. Our Vancouver location also has a cylindrical unit attachment and can engrave round things such as cups and bowls.

Rotary engraving is usually priced by running time. If you are bringing in your own product to be engraved there will be a setup charge. As with all engraving services rotary engraving is a permanent process so please bring extras of pieces that you want engraved or some sample pieces we can test on. Also keep in mind some surfaces do not engrave even though they may appear too, such as plated products because they may peel or reveal an uglier or dull finish underneath. A proof before production may be supplied if requested.

Artwork Guidelines

  • Please supply your artwork files in either of the following formats in this order of preference, PDF (Portable Document File), CDR (Corel Draw), EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) or AI (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Artwork for engraving should be in pure black and white, no gray or shading because engraving is either a cut or no cut, there is no half engraving on most materials.
  • Depending on what we are engraving, fonts should be no smaller than 12 points. You will also get better results if you use sans serif fonts for smaller print.
  • Photos supplied for engraving or for color reproduction should be at least 200 DPI, depending on final size of the product.

Please take a look at our Artwork page for more information on what to look for to get the best results.
