Laser Engraving

We provide Laser Engraving services in house at our Richmond location.  Our laser engravers can cut wood and some plastics, mark coated metals and glass as well as many other materials. The laser engraver can also cut thin materials like plastic, fabric and wood. Thicker materials 1/4″ inch or thicker do not cut because our lens is designed for engraving and will not be able focus to cut materials that thick. Laser engravers can also engrave photos which are great for memorials or similar projects.

Laser engraving is usually priced by square inch surface area or for small pieces running time. If you are bringing in your own product to be engraved there will be a setup charge and possible jig fabrication charge if we need something to hold your piece in place. As with all engraving services laser engraving is a permanent process so please bring extras of pieces that you want engraved or some sample pieces we can test on. A proof before production may be supplied if requested.

Artwork Guidelines

  • Please supply your artwork files in either of the following formats in this order of preference, PDF (Portable Document File), CDR (Corel Draw), EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) or AI (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Artwork for engraving should be in pure black and white, no gray or shading because engraving is either a cut or no cut, there is no half engraving on most materials.
  • Depending on what we are engraving, fonts should be no smaller than 12 points. You will also get better results if you use sans serif fonts for smaller print.
  • Photos supplied for engraving or for color reproduction should be at least 200 DPI, depending on final size of the product.

Please take a look at our Artwork page for more information on what to look for to get the best results.
